Utility Billing

Paying Your Bill:

Make checks payable to: City of Moultrie. Our mailing address is:
P.O. Box 3368
Moultrie, GA 31776.

Payments may also be made at the Municipal Building at 21 1st Avenue NE. When paying your bill at the Municipal Building, bring your entire statement to ensure proper validation.

Important Notice:

The net bill (the original amount of the bill prior to penalties) is due in our office by the end of the business day on the Due Date. Bills not paid by the end of business day on the Due Date will be assessed penalties. Failure to receive your bill does not relieve your obligation to pay the bill.

If your bill is unpaid 5 days after the due date, service may be disconnected and an administrative fee will be charged. If you are disconnected for nonpayment, you may be required to bring your deposit up to the current required amount.

Bills not paid by 5:00 p.m. the day before cut off day will be charged an administrative fee. Payments placed in the night deposit after 5:00 p.m. on the day before cut off day will be charged an administrative fee.

We are not responsible for utility losses on the customer’s side of the meter. As partial consideration for furnishing utilities, the Customer agrees that the City of Moultrie’s liability arising from its provision of utilities shall be limited to the twelve (12) month period preceding the date on which the claim is made.

Utility Assistance Program:

City of Moultrie utility customers may elect to contribute to the Utility Assistance Program via their monthly utility bills. The Utility Assistance Program provides financial assistance to our neighbors who need help paying for utility services. The program is funded by customer contributions and is administered solely by the Southwest Georgia Community Action (CAC). To participate in the Utility Assistance Program, you can pledge to contribute $1, $2, $5, or any other whole-dollar amount you choose. The amount you select will be added to your utility bill each month. The money then goes to CAC for disbursement to those in need. For individuals and families seeking assistance, eligibility requirements for assistance through the program are established by CAC, and requests for assistance are processed by CAC. To contribute to the program, please indicate on your utility bill the amount you wish to contribute, or contact Customer Service at 229-873-3126 for an enrollment form. Contributions to Southwest Georgia Community Action Council are tax deductible.

Electric Outages:

If you should experience an electric outage, please call 229-668-6000 during regular business hours, after business hours, and weekends for customer assistance.
