Street Maintenance Crew Operator

Position:

Street Maintenance Crew Operator

Department:

Public Works (Street Division)

Starting Salary:

$17.00/hour or depending upon experience (DUE)

General Nature of Work:

Works under the direct supervision of the Street Supervisor and Street Crew Leader in new construction and maintenance of Public Works activities and infrastructure involving light to heavy equipment. Operates light to heavy construction equipment including small tractor, backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, motorgrader, front end loader, 10-wheel dump truck, asphalt patcher, and sewer jetter in the maintenance and new construction of roads, drainage structures, sidewalks, and other City facilities, At times, may work as secondary crew leader in work activities as instructed by the Street Supervisor or Street Crew Leader.

Training and Experience:

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with considerable experience in Public Works activities including responsible crew leader experience in the methods and techniques used in new construction and maintenance activities involving light to heavy equipment; or, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the duties of the position. Must possess a valid Class “B” commercial driver’s license.
