SUMMARY:Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Parade
DESCRIPTION:Dear Friends of the Colquitt County Community\, \n  \nThe Colquitt County Branch of the NAACP is sponsoring a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration Parade on Monday\, January 19th\, 2026. You are invited to sponsor a unit in the parade. Participants are encouraged to sponsor floats\, if possible. The floats will be judged\, first\, second\, and third place. Plaque or trophy will be presented to the top three floats. The theme for this year’s celebration is “The Fierce Urgency Now”! Floats will be judged on the following: Theme must be incorporated\, must show originality\, workmanship\, and overall appearance and adherence to all listed rules.   \nThe parade line-up will begin at 1:00 P.M.\, in front of First Presbyterian Church at 501 First Street SE and follow the regular parade route through Downtown Moultrie and end at First Baptist Church on South Main Street. All participants are urged to be on time. Units will be placed in line on a first come basis and will be directed into position by parade officials. Parade officials will be traveling on golf carts. Parade entry fee: (FREE) \nAll correspondence regarding this event should be sent to the Colquitt County NAACP Branch at Post Office Box 932\, Moultrie\, Georgia 31776 or emailed back to colquittcountynaacp@yahoo.com.
