DESCRIPTION:April has been designated Keep Georgia Beautiful Month\, and in conjunction with Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup\, the City of Moultrie is proud to sponsor its Annual Spring Cleanup Week from Monday\, April 22\, 2024\, to Friday\, April 26\, 2024. During this weeklong cleanup event\, City of Moultrie residents can clean their properties of litter\, debris\, appliances\, junk automobiles\, and other discarded items at no additional cost. Just place the items in their normal collection location at each address\, and City workers will collect them. Alternatively\, a trailer will be located at the City of Moultrie Service Center at 1108 1st St NE\, and residents can bring and unload their own discarded items at no additional cost. Junk automobiles will also be collected at no additional cost by local salvage and wrecker services – call the City of Moultrie Public Works Department at 229-668-5423 for a list of participating haulers.\nPlease note that free pickup is reserved for City of Moultrie residents only\, excluding commercial businesses and vacant rental properties. Items are limited to non-trash items\, excluding limbs\, leaves\, other yard waste\, hazardous wastes\, and building demolition. There is a volume limit of 25 cubic yards per address.\nAlso\, there will be an electronic recycling event on Wednesday\, April 24\, 2024 from 9 AM until 3 PM whereby City of Moultrie residents can bring their discarded electronic appliances to a recycling trailer which will be located at the Georgia State Farmers Market.\nThanks for your continued cooperation as we strive to keep Moultrie a clean and pleasant place to live!\nCity of Moultrie Public Works Department\n(229) 668-5423

The Colquitt County Forestry Pageant is a local prelim for the state pageant\, The Miss Georgia Forestry Pageant\, which is held in June. The Georgia Forestry Pageant is a prestigious pageant and is the oldest scholarship pageant in Georgia. The Forestry Queens will go along side Smokey Bear to promote and help protect the forestry industry. There will be a crowned forestry queen in each age division and an option to enter to be crowned Pine Seedling Queen for each age division. Forestry queens and Pine Seedling queens compete at the state pageant. If you or your child is crowned\, they MUST represent the local title at the Georgia Foresty Pageant in June or the local title will be forfeited and will be given to the reigning Pine Seedling queen or 1st runner up. \nAge Divisions: \nBaby Miss 0-23 months \nTeeny Miss 2-3 years \nTiny Miss 4-6 years \nLittle Miss 7-9 years \nJunior Miss 10-12 years \nTeen Miss 13-16 years \nMiss 17-24 years \nMs. 25 and up(married\, single\, divorced\, or widowed) \nBaby and Teeny will compete in gown/beauty only. Tiny\, Little\, and Junior will compete in gown/beauty and fun fashion.
