City of Moultrie hosts volunteer day for Lowe’s 100 Hometowns Project

24 Aug, 2021

The City of Moultrie officially kicked off work on the Downtown Covered Breezeway this morning thanks to a grant from Lowe’s 100 Hometowns initiative. Mayor William McIntosh, expressed his appreciation to Lowe’s Manager, Jeff Miller, and other Lowe’s representatives. The breezeway project was selected as one of the 100 impact projects that are the cornerstone of 100 Hometowns, an initiative to celebrate Lowe’s centennial. There were more than 2,200 qualified submissions to Lowe’s 100 Hometowns, and the final projects span 36 states. Today, we hosted a volunteer event with Lowe’s red vest associates to kick off the project, which will reimagine the space. Our renovation project includes a new roof, new lighting, a new paint job, murals, planters, benches, new columns, and more. The project is expected to be completed by October 31st. #100Hometowns
