Special Operations

Dive Unit is responsible for rescue and recovery involving water. The personnel are highly trained in safety searching for recovering victims of drowning and routinely support law enforcement in the recovery of evidence from bodies of water. This unit responds with a boat equipped for dive rescue.

Swift Water Rescue Unit is responsible for rescues involving victims trapped in swift moving waters. This unit responds with a pair of watercraft equipped for swift or flood water rescues.

Hazardous Materials Unit is responsible for handling hazardous material incidents in Moultrie or Colquitt County. This unit operates with hazardous material response tools and equipment. The personnel are trained hazardous material technicians and can respond and handle most any incident.

Technical Rescue Unit responds mostly to persons trapped in vehicles. They rescue victims from vehicles, building collapses, trench collapses, high angle incidents, confined spaces and many other unusual and dangerous situations.
