Downtown Economic Development and Public Relations
$30,000 Salary based on qualification and experience
Assists with planning and implementation of downtown events; organizes and manages event details such as entertainment, location, equipment, promotional material and recruits volunteers and service providers, while coordinating city resources necessary for downtown events by working closely with other departments; Conducts pre and post-event evaluations and reports on outcomes; Serves as a resource for downtown business owners; Assists in coordinating activities for the downtown committees by serving as a liaison to ensure the synchronization of efforts; Promotes downtown and city organization through marketing plans and promotions, including but not limited to advertising, media relations, social media, and web content; Attends meetings with various committees and organizations and training as needed; Assists walk-ins and telephone request.
Preferred Associates degree in Marketing or related field with at least two years of experience. Must have excellent communication skills both in-person and by phone, including writing, proofreading skills and speaking; Must have skills in graphic design and experience in working with Adobe, QuarkXpress, and/or Canva; Must have a great understanding of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; Ability to prioritize and plan using a high level of proficiency; Must display a high degree of professionalism in dealing with the public and fellow employees; Must possess a valid driver’s license.
