The Colquitt County Branch of the NAACP sponsors the Martin Luther King Jr. parade each year. This year’s parade takes place Monday, January 15, 2024. The theme for the parade is “Thriving Together to Raise the Bar”.
Downtown Moultrie’s newest event has something for everyone! Participating businesses put out special deals for a sidewalk sale from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, and food trucks roll into downtown and are set up from 11:00 am – 3:30 pm.

The Calico Arts and Crafts Show is a one-stop shopping extravaganza for Southwest Georgia and the surrounding area. You can find ornamental iron, home & garden décor, painted glass, antiques, whimsically painted children’s furniture, and much more, all in one location! Approximately 500 vendors attend the event to feature fine arts, handmade crafts, and hand-decorated items. The show has become an established, highly anticipated event held each March and November. Free parking and convenient access make it easy to start having fun immediately.
The popular Automotive Swap Meet is a bi-annual automotive event with 70,000 square feet of inside space and over 4,000 outsides spaces. This event is an automobile lover’s dream with parts, tools, literature, equipment, antique and performance parts, crafts, and collectibles. Not to mention thousands of automobiles of many makes and models ranging in various stages of restoration. While at the Automotive Swap Meet swing by the auto auction and visit the many vendors.

Doerun’s May Day Festival is held on the first Saturday in May. This two-day event kicks off Friday with a BBQ competition that carries over into Saturday. With arts and crafts, bands performing, a parade, and more, visitors are sure to have a good time.

Join us on Thanksgiving Night when people and families alike flood downtown to look up at the beautiful Canopy of Lights! Each year Santa Claus makes a special visit to Downtown Moultrie to see the children and kick off the Christmas season. When you explore, you will find live reindeer, pony rides, a train, and more.
Downtown shops begin to open at 4 pm, just two hours before the Canopy of Lights is turned on for the season. After you watch the lights come on, take a stroll around downtown to visit the many shops and restaurants that are open.

Put on your most festive holiday attire to race under the Canopy of Lights in Downtown Moultrie. The Moultrie Service League sponsors the beloved Santa Stroll ‘n Roll every December. People dressed up as Santa and in ugly Christmas sweaters run, jog, walk, and bike one mile under thousand of Christmas lights. There will be a take-home art project and other activities for kids, including making reindeer food, and The Nativity Story will be performed.

Every December, Christmas in the Park is held in the City of Doerun. Community members and visitors gather to watch the Christmas tree be turned on. It is truly a merry evening for all. Plus, there are arts and crafts, food, entertainment, and Santa Claus even stops in for a visit!
Attend the most festive parade in Georgia on the second Thursday in December at 6:00 p.m. All organizations and businesses are invited to participate in the parade. This traditional parade is becoming known as one of the largest in South Georgia. Bring your friends and family and enjoy a night of Christmas cheer.
