Lights! Lights! Thanksgiving Night:

Join us on Thanksgiving Night when people and families alike flood downtown to look up at the beautiful Canopy of Lights! Each year Santa Claus makes a special visit to Downtown Moultrie to see the children and kick off the Christmas season. When you explore, you will find live reindeer, pony rides, a train, and more.
Downtown shops begin to open at 4 pm, just two hours before the Canopy of Lights is turned on for the season. After you watch the lights come on, take a stroll around downtown to visit the many shops and restaurants that are open.

Festival of Lights Christmas Parade:

Attend the most festive parade in Georgia on the second Thursday in December at 6:00 p.m. All organizations and businesses are invited to participate in the parade. Second Saturday:

Moultrie’s newest event takes place the Second Saturday of every month from March – October (excluding July.)  On the Second Saturday of every month, store owners stay open late, and starting at 5 PM, if you’re 21-years-old or older, you can get an event armband and cup from participating restaurants.  The armbands and cups allow you to sip and stroll outside with beer and wine.  Then, at 7:30 PM, a band will take the stage and perform until 9:30 PM.

Music Under the Magnolia:

Music Under the Magnolia Downtown Jamboree is the perfect event to attend in the fall.  By November, temperatures have started to drop in South Georgia, making it the ideal time to sample chili from different contestants in Moultrie’s Chili Cook-off.  Participating merchants will have racks of clothes outside for you to browse through and buy as part of a Downtown wide Sidewalk Sale.  If activities are what you enjoy, sign up for the Cornhole Tournament and compete to see if you’ll be named the champion!  A bouncy house and other kid-friendly activities will be set up for your little ones to enjoy around the square.   And of course, what would Music under the Magnolia be without magnificent music!?!  Live music will be played throughout the event; then, the featured band will take the stage at Lewis Hill Amphitheater at 7:00 PM.
