Visionary City 2022

27 Jan, 2022

The City of Moultrie was recently recognized by the Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia Trend Magazine for its work in Downtown Revitalization. Moultrie was one of nine municipalities that were named a 2022 Visionary City during the Cities United Summit on Jan. 23. The recognition is designed to highlight cities who have programs that are positively impacting their communities through civic engagement and by collaborating with other community organizations. Awarded to nine cities each year—three from each population size group: under 4,999, 5,000-24,999, and more than 25,000, the Visionary City Award is given to initiatives/projects that are measurable and judged on how well they demonstrate civic engagement, inclusiveness and equity, collaboration, innovation, and long-term value to the community. The City of Moultrie, along with the eight other Georgia cities bestowed with the honor this year including Ringgold, Tybee Island, Cornelia, Acworth, Canton, Covington, Macon, and Lawrenceville, will be featured in the February issue of Georgia Trend Magazine. The magazine will further highlight these outstanding cities who are leading the way with innovative programs and creative solutions.
