Customer Service Representative

Starting Salary: $27,040

Salary based on Qualification and Experience

General Nature of Work:

Receives, process and checks applications for utility services and cash deposits; advises customer of City utility policies and non-payment procedures; assist utility customers in solving problems or answering questions concerning their utility bill; performs file maintenance on a computer terminal; initiates work orders relating to utility services; files all complete and incomplete work orders.

Training and Experience:

 Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with experience in general office work involving public contact a must; thorough knowledge of the city’s utility policies, practices and procedures; must be computer literate, must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing; must be able to make decisions recognizing established procedures and practices and must possess a valid driver’s license.
