Back to Community Enhancement (Planning & Community Development)
The goal of the Community Protection Division is code enforcement by ensuring property maintenance and proper land use for properties within the city limits. The Community Protection officer ensures that all properties are protected against destruction and depreciation.
The Community Protection Division works in partnership with the citizens of Moultrie to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment. We administer a fair and unbiased enforcement program to correct violations of municipal codes and land use requirements.
This Division strives to improve our community’s standard of living by proactively ensuring compliance with the latest edition (as adopted, amended, and revised by the Department of Community Affairs) of the International Property Maintenance Code and by eliminating structures that are hazardous, unsafe or unsanitary through rehabilitation or demolition.
This Division also administers Property Maintenance Codes, Minimum Housing Standards, Zoning Ordinance, as well as State and Local Nuisance Codes to include environmental issues.
