Cornelius Ponder most recently began serving on the City Council in January of 2026. He is a Moultrie native and a graduate of Colquitt County High School.
He attended Andersonville Theological Seminary and became the full-time pastor of Greater Newton Grove Cathedral and Dayspring Inspirational Church. Cornelius is also the Bishop of The REAL Church and Immanuel Praise Tabernacle.
Cornelius currently owns Ponder Car Wash, a family-owned business that has served the community for more than 50 years. He and his wife, Kutana, have four sons.
